Your origins. Your stories. Your legacy.
No story that matters should be lost.
Photographs, documents, letters, recipes, recordings and the stories told at home — kept together, with who told it, when, and where it came from.
Origena preserves the origin of every piece of information. When two people remember it differently, both versions stay.
Four movements, in the order memory actually happens — nobody starts with a complete family tree.
Photos, videos, audio, documents and letters. The original stays exactly as it arrived: Origena never replaces what you sent.
Who is in it, when it was, what happened that day. One sentence is enough, and it keeps the name of who told it and the date.
People, places, times and objects connect to each other. The same photo appears on the page of everyone in it, without becoming a copy.
Out of the archive come books, albums and year reviews in PDF — with nothing typed again.
What exists today, working, in the closed beta.
Each piece of information keeps where it came from: who told it, which document proved it, when it arrived. When two people remember differently, both versions stay — neither is deleted.
Direct, secure upload, an immutable original, a thumbnail made on your own device, and the file checked byte by byte before entering the archive.
Ten question guides and recording on your own phone. The original audio is never replaced, and the transcript can be corrected by hand.
Recipes with the handwritten page beside the transcript, crafts with the chain of who taught whom, and objects with the line of who kept them over time.
It looks by word and also by meaning — and never shows what your role in the family cannot see.
A letter written today to be read decades from now. While it is sealed, nobody reads it: not you, not the account owner.
Who looks after the archive if you no longer can. Nothing happens automatically: there is a quorum, an objection window and a human review.
The archive becomes a PDF to print. Paper has no password, depends on no provider and does not expire.
Seven roles, from owner to guest. A child's profile is born closed, and any item can be more restricted than the rest.
A complete export in open formats, with the photos included and the tree in GEDCOM. Leaving is a right, not a favour.
Origena was built for what actually happens in a family: the aunt who remembers everyone's name, the grandfather who tells the same story differently every Christmas, the box of photos nobody can date.
That is why an approximate date is a valid answer, a differing version is not an error, and someone who just wants to send a photo can send a photo — with no form to fill in.
Built to be used on a phone, by people of every age: large text, generous targets, and no screen that depends on knowing where to click.
Everything the family kept can become an object — without retyping anything:
Every book is the view of whoever asked for it: two relatives with different roles get different books, and the colophon says what is an account, what is a document and what came from a machine.
Prices come from the same place billing uses — what is here is what is charged.
